The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the snorting courses, 1 And strike sparks of fire, 2 as they gallop to make raids at dawn, 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 Then penetrate to the centre of the enemy army. 5 Lo! man is an ingrate unto his Lord 6 And to that fact he bears witness (by his deeds); 7 And indeed he is ardent for the love of good (wealth, becoming greedy). 8 ۞ But does he not know that [on the Last Day,] when all that is in the graves is raised and brought out, 9 and that which is in the breasts is brought out -- 10 Most surely their Lord that day shall be fully aware of them. 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
