The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of those that sprint, breathing heavily. (The horses used in Holy War.) 1 Striking stones with their hooves, sparking fire. 2 Then those that make raids at morn, 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 Penetrating forthwith as one into the midst (of the foe); 5 VERILY, towards his Sustainer man is most ungrateful 6 He himself knows this very well. 7 And indeed he loves wealth to the extreme. 8 ۞ Knows he not that when the contents of the graves are brought out and poured forth (all mankind is resurrected). 9 and the secrets of the hearts are laid bare (and examined)? 10 indeed, on that Day their Lord will be aware of them! 11
