Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

The mutual rivalry for piling up of worldly things diverts you, 1 until you reach your graves. 2 No indeed; but soon you shall know. 3 You shall cetainly know (about the consequences of your deeds). 4 Yes certainly, if you had believed with certainty, you would not have craved for wealth. 5 You should most certainly have seen the hell; 6 You would see it with the eye of certainty. 7 Then, on that Day, you shall be asked about the delight (you indulged in, in this world)! 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
