The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Woe to every scorner and mocker 1 who amasses wealth and counts it over and again. 2 Does he think that his wealth will prolong his stay on earth forever? 3 Nay, he shall be thrown into the Crusher. 4 And what do you know what the Crusher is? 5 It is the fire kindled by God 6 Which will climb on to the hearts. 7 Verily it will close in upon them, 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
