The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every slanderer, defamer, 1 who collects and hordes wealth, 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the crushing torment. 4 And what shall make thee know that which the Crushing Fire is? 5 It is the fire of Allah, [eternally] fueled, 6 which shall oversee the hearts, 7 Verily it shall close upon them, 8 In extended columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
