Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Destroyed were the hands of Abu Lahab, and he lay utterly doomed. 1 Of no avail shall be his wealth, nor what he has acquired. 2 he shall roast at a flaming fire 3 and so too will his wife who (threw thorns and firewood in the Prophet's way). 4 upon her neck a rope of palm-fibre. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
