Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
All praise unto Allah, who created the heavens and the earth and made the darknesses and the light, yet those who disbelieve equalise others with their Lord. 1 He it is who has created you out of clay, and then has decreed a term [for you] - a term known [only] to him. And yet you doubt 2 He is Allah in the heavens and earth. He has knowledge of all that you hide and all that you reveal. He knows what you earn. 3 Yet every time a sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord, they turn away from it. 4 And they denied the truth when it came unto them. But there will come unto them the tidings of that which they used to deride. 5 Have they not seen how many a generation before them We have destroyed whom We had established on the earth such as We have not established you? And We poured out on them rain from the sky in abundance, and made the rivers flow under them. Yet We destroyed them for their sins, and created after them other generations. 6 But even if we had sent down unto thee [O Prophet] a writing on paper, and they had touched it with their own hands - those who are bent on denying the truth would indeed have said, "This is clearly nothing but a deception!" 7 And they say, "Why was there not sent down to him an angel?" But if We had sent down an angel, the matter would have been decided; then they would not be reprieved. 8 Indeed, if We had sent an angel as messenger, We would have made him in the form of a man as well, and would have thus added to their confusion. 9 And indeed before your time (O Muhammad!) many a Messenger has been scoffed at; but those who mocked at them were encompassed by the Truth they had scoffed at. 10
