O YOU who have attained to faith! Seek aid in steadfast patience and prayer: for, behold, God is with those who are patient in adversity. 153 And say not of those slain in God's way, 'They are dead'; rather they are living, but you are not aware. 154 And We will surely prove you with aught of fear and hunger and diminution in riches and lives and fruits; and bear thou the glad tidings unto the patient; 155 Who say, when a misfortune striketh them: Lo! we are Allah's and lo! unto Him we are returning. 156 It is they upon whom their Sustainer's blessings and grace are bestowed, and it is they, they who are on the right path! 157 ۞ [Hence,] behold, As-Safa and Al-Marwah are among the symbols set up by God; and thus, no wrong does he who, having come to the Temple on pilgrimage or on a pious visit, strides to and fro between these two: for, if one does more good than he is bound to do - behold, God is responsive to gratitude, all-knowing. 158 Those who conceal the clear (Signs) We have sent down, and the Guidance, after We have made it clear for the people in the Book,-on them shall be Allah's curse, and the curse of those entitled to curse,- 159 save such as repent and make amends, and show clearly -- towards them I shall turn; I turn, All-compassionate. 160 Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers - upon them will be the curse of Allah and of the angels and the people, all together, 161 They are there (in the Fire) for eternity neither shall the punishment be lightened for them; nor shall they be given respite. 162 Your God is one God. There is no deity save Him. He is the Compassionate, the Merciful. 163
