And certainly We created man of clay that gives forth sound, of black mud fashioned in shape. 26 And the jinn, We had created them afore of the fire of the scroching wind. 27 And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "I will create a human being out of clay from an altered black mud. 28 When I have shaped him and ran My created soul in him fall down prostrating towards him'. 29 So the angels fell prostrate, all of them together 30 except Iblis who refused to join with the others in prostration. 31 Said He, 'What ails thee, Iblis, that thou art not among those bowing?' 32 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am not the one to prostrate myself to a human being, whom You created from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud." 33 The Lord said: "Then get out of here; you are rejected, 34 “And indeed you are accursed till the Day of Judgement.” 35 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected." 36 [Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved 37 till the appointed time. 38 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all. 39 Except Thy servants from among them, the devoted ones. 40 He said: This is a right course incumbent upon Me: 41 No power shall you have over (all) My creatures except those who fall into error and follow you, 42 Gehenna (Hell) will be the promise for all of them. 43 It has seven gates; for every gate there shall be a separate party of them. 44
