We created man from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape; 26 And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire. 27 Your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to bring into being a man wrought from mud. 28 When I have shaped him, and breathed My spirit in him, fall you down, bowing before him!' 29 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 except Iblis who refused to join with the others in prostration. 31 He said: 'iblis, what is the matter with you, that you do you not prostrate yourself' 32 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am not the one to prostrate myself to a human being, whom You created from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud." 33 "Go hence, execrable," (said the Lord), "from this place, 34 and will be subjected to condemnation until the Day of Judgment." 35 He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." 36 Allah said: verily then thou art of the respited: 37 Till the Day of appointed time. 38 He said, “My Lord! I swear by the fact that You sent me astray, I shall distract them in the earth, and I shall lead all of them astray.” 39 excepting those Thy servants among them that are devoted. 40 (Allah) said: "This is the Way which will lead straight to Me." 41 Surely, as regards My servants, you have no authority, over them except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 And verily Hell is the place promised unto them all. 43 It has seven gates; for every gate is of them a portion designated." 44
