When the messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 He said, “You are an unfamiliar people.” 62 They said: Nay, but we bring thee that concerning which they keep disputing, 63 And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 64 "So leave with your family late in the night, yourself remaining in the rear, and let none turn back to look, and go where you will be commanded." 65 And We decreed for him that commandment, that the last remnant of those should be cut off in the morning. 66 In the meantime the people of the city came to Lot rejoicing. 67 [Lout (Lot)] said: "Verily! these are my guests, so shame me not. 68 Fear God and do not shame me." 69 They said; Have we not forbidden you from (entertaining) anyone? 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 [But the angels spoke thus:] "As thou livest, [O Lot, they will not listen to thee:] behold, in their delirium [of lust] they are but blindly stumbling to and fro!" 72 Then the mighty Blast caught them at sunrise, 73 And We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down and rained down on them stones of baked clay. 74 Surely in this are signs for those who examine. 75 it is still there on the highway -- 76 Indeed in this are signs for the believers. 77 Certainly the dwellers in the Thicket were evildoers, 78 On them, too, We took vengeance, and they are both on a clear roadway. 79
