When the messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: "Verily! You are people unknown to me." 62 They said, 'Nay, but we have brought thee that concerning which they were doubting. 63 "And we have brought to you the truth (the news of the destruction of your nation) and certainly, we tell the truth. 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 We issued this command to him, for they were going to be destroyed in the morning. 66 And the inhabitants of the city came rejoicing (at the news of the young men's arrival). 67 He said, “These are my guests – do not dishonour me.” 68 "And fear Allah and disgrace me not." 69 They said: Have we not forbidden you from (other) people? 70 He said, 'These are my daughters, if you would be doing.' 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning, 73 And We utterly confounded them, and We rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 Verily, in all this there are messages indeed for those who can read the signs: 75 That town lies on a road which still exists. 76 Surely, in that there is a sign for those who believe. 77 And indeed the Dwellers of the Woods were unjust. 78 We therefore took revenge from them; and indeed both these townships are situated on an open road. 79
