Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 he said, "You are strangers [to me]." 62 They said: Nay, but we bring thee that concerning which they keep disputing, 63 and we have come to you with the truth, and surely we are truthful, 64 So set out with your family during a portion of the night and follow behind them and let not anyone among you look back and continue on to where you are commanded." 65 And We communicated to him the decree that by the morning those people will be totally destroyed. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 He said: verily these are my guests, so disgrace me not. 68 and fear God, and do not degrade me.' 69 They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?" 70 He said: 'Here are my daughters; take them (in marriage), if you would be doing' 71 By your life, they wandered on in their wild intoxication 72 Then the shout took hold of them at the sunrise. 73 And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay. 74 There are great Signs in this for those endowed with intelligence. 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 Indeed there is a portent in this for those who believe. 77 And the Companions of the Wood were also wrong-doers; 78 So We chastised them. The desolate locations of both communities lie on a well-known highway. 79
