And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers. 80 We brought them signs, but they turned away. 81 And they were hewing out houses from mountains feeling secure. 82 So the rumbling overtook them in the morning; 83 and that which they had earned did not help them. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between the two in accordance with the requirements of truth and wisdom. The Hour is surely coming. So overlook [their faults] with gracious forgiveness. 85 Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator. 86 We have indeed bestowed on you the seven oft-repeated verses and the Great Qur'an. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 And say: Surely I am the plain warner. 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 Who have made the Qur'an into portions. 91 Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account, 92 concerning what they have been doing. 93 Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists. 94 Surely We will suffice you against the scoffers 95 Who set up along with Allah another god; presently they shall know. 96 We know indeed thy breast is straitened by the things they say. 97 Proclaim thy Lord's praise, and be of those that bow, 98 and serve thy Lord, until the Certain comes to thee. 99
