The dwellers in El-Hijr cried lies to the Envoys. 80 And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away. 81 And they hewed houses in the mountains in security. 82 An explosion struck them in the morning. 83 And all that which they used to earn availed them not. 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-creator, the All-knowing. 86 And certainly We have given you seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the grand Quran. 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 And say: Surely I am the plain warner. 89 even as We had sent warning to those who had divided their religion into fragments; 90 Those who broke the Word of Allah into several parts. (Those who broke the Torah / Bible or changed its text – or those who called the Qur’an a fabrication / poetry.) 91 so by your Lord, We will question them all 92 for what they have done 93 Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists. 94 verily, We shall suffice thee against all who [now] deride [this message - all] 95 Those who ascribe another God along with Allah; so they will soon come to know. 96 We do indeed know how your heart is distressed at what they say. 97 but extol thou thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise Him, and be of those who prostrate themselves [before Him] in adoration, 98 and worship your Lord until what is certain [death] comes to you. 99
