It is He who sends down water from the sky of which you drink, and which nourishes the plants you feed your cattle, 10 With it He produces for you corn, olives, date-palms, grapes and every kind of fruit: verily in this is a sign for those who give thought. 11 And He has subjected for you the night and day and the sun and moon, and the stars are subjected by His command. Indeed in that are signs for a people who reason. 12 And He hath subjected for you whatsoever He hath multiplied for you on the earth of various kinds. Verily therein is a sign for a people who receive admonition. 13 And He it is who has made the sea subservient [to His laws,] so that you might eat fresh meat from it, and take from it gems which you may wear. And on that [very sea] one sees ships ploughing through the waves, so that you might [be able to] go forth in quest of some of His bounty, and thus have cause to be grateful [to Him]. 14 He has set up on the earth firm mountains, lest it shake under you, and rivers and tracks, so that you may find your way, 15 And landmarks; and they are guided by the star. 16 Is He, then, who creates like him who does not create? Will you not, then, take heed? 17 If you tried to count God's blessings, you would never be able to number them. God is ever forgiving and most merciful. 18 And Allah knoweth that which ye keep secret and that which ye publish. 19 But those whom you invoke, other than Allah do not create anything they are themselves created. 20 (They are) dead, not living. And they know not when they will be raised. 21
