Keep up prayer from the declining of the sun till the darkness of the night and the morning recitation; surely the morning recitation is witnessed. 78 And as for the night, keep vigil a part of it, as a work of supererogation for thee; it may be that thy Lord will raise thee up to a laudable station. 79 And pray, “My Lord! Admit me with the truth and take me out with the truth*, and give me from Yourself a helpful dominance**.” (* Wherever I come or go ** Through spread of Islam.) 80 And say: Truth hath come and falsehood hath vanished away. Lo! falsehood is ever bound to vanish. 81 And We reveal by means of the Qur'an that which is a healing and a mercy unto the believers, and it only increaseth the wrong-doers in loss. 82 When We are gracious to man he turns away and moves aside; yet when evil befalls him he begins to despair. 83 Proclaim, “Each one works according to his own pattern; and your Lord well knows him who is more upon guidance.” 84
