Seest thou not that We have set the devils on the disbelievers to confound them with confusion? 83 So be not impatient over them. We only count out to them a [limited] number. 84 The Day We shall gather the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) unto the Most Beneficent (Allah), like a delegate (presented before a king for honour). 85 And We shall drive the Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, etc.) to Hell, in a thirsty state (like a thirsty herd driven down to water), 86 None shall have the power of intercession, but such a one as has received permission (or promise) from the Most Beneficent (Allah). 87 And the disbelievers said, “The Most Gracious has chosen an offspring.” 88 Assuredly ye have brought a thing monstrous. 89 The heavens are wellnigh rent of it and the earth split asunder, and the mountains wellnigh fall down crashing for 90 to ascribe a son to the Beneficent God. 91 And it does not befit the Most Gracious to choose an offspring! 92 There is no one in the heavens and the earth but will come to the Beneficent Allah as a servant. 93 He knows their number and has counted each one of them. 94 and every one of them will appear before Him on Resurrection Day in a lonely state. 95 Verily those who believe and do righteous works - anon the Compassionate shall appoint for them affection. 96 So We have made it easy in thine tongue in order that thou mayest thereby give glad tidings unto the Godfearing and warn thereby a people contentious. 97 How many generations We have destroyed before them! Can you find a single one of them alive now, or hear so much as a whisper from them? 98
