And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. 31 And certainly We chose them, having knowledge, above the nations. 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Indeed these people say: 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 Bring us our fathers, if you speak truly!' 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those afore them? We destroyed them; verily they were culprits. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, just for play. 38 We created them not except for just ends: but most of them do not understand. 39 Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,- 40 The Day when no relation will avail a relation at all, nor will they be helped - 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
