T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 We did not reveal the Qur'an to you to cause you distress; 2 but only as an exhortation for him who fears God; 3 It is a revelation from the Creator of the earth and the high heavens. 4 (Allah) Most Gracious is firmly established on the throne (of authority). 5 To Him only belongs all whatever is in the heavens and all whatever is in the earth, and all whatever is between them, and all whatever is beneath this wet soil. 6 If thou pronounce the word aloud, (it is no matter): for verily He knoweth what is secret and what is yet more hidden. 7 Allah! no God there is but he! His are the names excellent. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 When he saw a fire and said unto his folk: Lo! Wait! I see a fire afar off. Peradventure I may bring you a brand therefrom or may find guidance at the fire. 10 Then when he was come thereto, he was cried unto. O Musa! 11 I am your Lord. Take off your shoes, for you are in Towa, the sacred valley. 12 I Myself have chosen thee; therefore give thou ear to this revelation. 13 "Verily, I am Allah: There is no god but I: So serve thou Me (only), and establish regular prayer for celebrating My praise. 14 The Hour is coming. I almost conceal it, so that every soul will be recompensed for its labors. 15 Do not let those who disbelieve in it and follow their desires bar you from it, or you will perish. 16 What is that in your right hand, Moses' 17 He replied, "It is my staff. I lean on it, bring down leaves for my sheep with it and I need it for other reasons. 18 He said: Cast it down, O Musa! 19 He cast it down, and behold! It was a snake, moving quickly. 20 (Allah) said, "Seize it, and fear not: We shall return it at once to its former condition".. 21 And press thy hand to thy side, it will come forth white, without hurt, as another sign. 22 So We would show thee some of Our greatest signs. 23 Go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 24
