[Musa (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness). 25 "And ease my task for me; 26 Remove the defect of my tongue 27 That they may understand my speech, 28 Appoint for me a minister from my family 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Strengthen me through him 31 and let him share my task, 32 That we may hallow Thee oft. 33 “And profusely remember You.” 34 "Verily! You are of us Ever a Well-Seer." 35 [Allah] said, "You have been granted your request, O Moses. 36 “And indeed We had bestowed upon you a favour one more time.” 37 when We revealed what was to be made known to your mother, 38 Saying: Throw him into the ark, and throw it into the river, then the river shall throw it on to the bank, and there an enemy to Me and an enemy to him shall take him. And I endued thee with love from Me that thou mightest be trained according to My will, 39 Recall, when your sister went along, saying: 'Shall I direct you to one who will take charge of him?' Thus We brought you back to your mother so that her heart might be gladdened and she might not grieve. Moses, recall when you slew a person. We delivered you from distress and made you go through several trials. Then you stayed for several years among the people of Midian, and now you have come at the right moment as ordained. 40 And I produced you for Myself. 41 "Go, thou and thy brother, with My Signs, and slacken not, either of you, in keeping Me in remembrance. 42 Go both of you to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed all bounds, 43 Speak to him gently. He may possibly take heed or may come to have fear." 44 They said: "Our Lord! Verily! We fear lest he should hasten to punish us or lest he should transgress (all bounds against us)." 45 The Lord replied them, "Do not be afraid; I Am with you all the time, listening and seeing." 46 “Therefore go to him and say, ‘We are the sent ones of your Lord, therefore let the Descendants of Israel go with us, and do not trouble them; we have indeed brought to you a sign from your Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance.’ 47 "'Verily it has been revealed to us that the Penalty (awaits) those who reject and turn away.'" 48 He said: who is the Lord of you twain, O Musa! 49 [Musa (Moses)] said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each thing its form and nature, then guided it aright." 50 He said: What then is the state of the generations of old? 51 Musa said: the knowledge thereof is with my Lord in the Book; my Lord erreth not, nor He forgetteth. 52 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and therein threaded roads for you, and sent down water out of heaven, and therewith We have brought forth divers kinds of plants. 53 so eat and graze your cattle. In this there are signs for men of understanding. 54
