The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Draws near for mankind their reckoning, while they turn away in heedlessness. 1 Whenever any fresh admonition comes to them from their Lord they barely heed it and remain immersed in play, 2 diverted their hearts. The evildoers whisper one to another, 'Is this aught but a mortal like to yourselves? What, will you take to sorcery with your eyes open?' 3 He (Muhammad SAW) said: "My Lord knows (every) word (spoken) in the heavens and on earth. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower." 4 Aye! they say: a medley of dreams; aye! he hath fabricated it; aye! he is a poet; so let him bring us a sign even as the ancients were sent with. 5 There is not a township before them which did not believe which We have not destroyed; so will they believe? 6 And We did not send (Prophets) before you except men, to whom We sent divine revelations – therefore, O people, ask the people of knowledge if you do not know. 7 And We did not create them without bodies so they would not eat food – nor that they abide on earth forever. 8 Our promise to them came true and We saved them and those whom We wanted, but destroyed the unjust people. 9 And assuredly We have sent down unto you a Book wherein is admonition for you; will ye not then reflect? 10
