Have the unbelievers not ever considered that the heavens and the earth were one piece and that We tore them apart from one another. From water We have created all living things. Will they then have no faith? 30 And We have placed in the earth firm hills lest it quake with them, and We have placed therein ravines as roads that haply they may find their way. 31 We have made the heaven a well-secured canopy; yet still they turn away from Our signs. 32 And He it is Who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all (orbs) travel along swiftly in their celestial spheres. 33 We have given no man everlastingness before you. So then if you die, will they live ever after? 34 Everyone is going to taste death, and We shall make a trial of you with evil and with good, and to Us you will be returned. 35 When the unbelievers behold thee, they take thee only for mockery: 'Ha, is this the one who makes mention of your gods?' Yet they in the Remembrance of the All-merciful are unbelievers. 36 Man has been created hasty; very soon I shall show you My signs, do not be impatient. 37 They say: "When will this promise come to pass, if ye are telling the truth?" 38 Would that the unbelievers knew that no one would protect their faces and backs against the fire, nor they would be helped. 39 Nay, it may come to them all of a sudden and confound them: no power will they have then to avert it, nor will they (then) get respite. 40 Before you, other Messengers were mocked, but the mockers were encompassed by the very thing they mocked. 41
