The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 who turn away from idle talk; 3 those who pay the zakat; 4 and restrain their carnal desires 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 So whoever desires more than these two – they are crossing the limits. 7 And those who fulfil their trusts and keep their promises; 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 It is they, they who shall be the inheritors 10 Who will inherit Paradise, and live in it for ever. 11 Indeed We created man from a chosen soil. 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 After that you shall surely die, 15 and you will be brought back to life again on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have created seven paths above you; We have never been unmindful of Our creation. 17 And We sent down water from the sky in proper measure, then stored it in the earth; and indeed We are Able to take it away! 18 Then We produce for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you and whereof ye eat; 19 And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. 20 And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat. 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
