And said the leaders of his people, who disbelieved and denied the confronting of the Hereafter – and We had given them comfort in the worldly life – that, “He is nothing but a human like you, he eats from what you eat and drinks from what you drink.” 33 And if you should obey a man like yourselves, indeed, you would then be losers. 34 Promiseth he unto you that ye, when ye have died and have become dust and bones, ye are to be brought forth? 35 ۞ “How remote, (really) how remote is the promise you are given!” 36 Life is not but our worldly life - we die and live, but we will not be resurrected. 37 He is only a man who has invented a lie about God, and we are not going to believe him!" 38 He said, 'O my Lord, help me, for that they cry me lies.' 39 He said, 'In a little they will be remorseful.' 40 The blast justly struck them and We reduced them to rubble. Away with such wicked people! 41 Then We raised after them other generations. 42 No nation can anticipate their term, nor can they delay it. 43 Then We sent Our apostles one after the other. Every time an apostle came to a people they denied him. So We made one follow the other (to its doom), and turned them into bygone tales. Cursed be the people who do not believe! 44 AND THEN We sent forth Moses and his brother Aaron with Our messages and a manifest authority [from Us] 45 unto Pharaoh and his Council; but they waxed proud, and they were a lofty people, 46 'What' they said, 'are we to believe in two mortals like us, whose nation are our worshipers' 47 Thus, they gave the lie to those two, and earned (thereby) their place among the doomed: 48 And We gave the Book to Moses so that they may be guided. 49 And We made Mary's son, and his mother, a Sign, and We gave them refuge on a lofty ground, a peaceful site with springs flowing in it. 50
