And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and whom We had given plenty to enjoy in this world's life, said: This is nothing but a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat from and drinking of what you drink. 33 If you obey a mortal like yourselves, you shall be lost. 34 Doth he promise you that you, when ye are dead and have become dust and bones, will (again) be brought forth? 35 ۞ "Far, very far is that which ye are promised! 36 There is no other life than the life of the world. We shall live here and here shall we die; and we are not going to be raised again. 37 He is but a man who hath fabricated against God a lie, and in him we are not going to be believers. 38 He said, “My Lord! Help me as they deny me.” 39 Answered (the Lord): "They shall wake up repenting soon." 40 Then the Blast overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead leaves (floating on the stream of Time)! So away with the people who do wrong! 41 Then We raised up other generations after them, 42 Every nation has an appointed life span. 43 We sent Our messengers one after the other but whenever a Messenger would come to a nation, its people would call him a liar and We would destroy one nation after the other, thus, only their stories were left behind them. God keeps the unbelievers far away from His Mercy. 44 AND THEN We sent forth Moses and his brother Aaron with Our messages and a manifest authority [from Us] 45 To Pharaoh and his nobles who behaved with arrogance, for they were a conceited lot, 46 They said, "Should we believe two men like ourselves while their people are for us in servitude?" 47 So they denied them both [Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)] and became of those who were destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book, in order that they might be guided. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign and sheltered them within a high ground having level [areas] and flowing water. 50
