I told them, "Messengers, eat from the pure things and act righteously; I know all that you do. 51 And lo! this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, so keep your duty unto Me. 52 But their nations broke their tasks into pieces; every group happy with what it has. 53 So leave them in their error for a time. 54 Do they think that by what We aid them with of wealth and children, 55 We provide them with the means of competing with each other in virtuous deeds, but they do not realize this. 56 Surely those who tremble in fear of their Lord 57 who believe in the revelations of their Lord, 58 and who do not ascribe divinity to aught but their Sustainer, 59 And those who give what they give (in alms) while their hearts are full of fear that to their Lord they must return, 60 These people hasten to perform goodness, and it is they who shall reach it first. 61 And We task not any soul except according to its capacity, and with Us is a book speaking with truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 In fact, the hearts of the unbelievers are in the dark because of their ignorance of real virtue; they act against it. 63 Until when We overtake those who lead easy lives among them with punishment, lo! they cry for succor. 64 "Do not supplicate for help today; you will not be rescued by Us; 65 Indeed My Verses used to be recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels (denying them, and with hatred to listen to them). 66 and arrogantly mocked and reviled them. 67 Have they not pondered the matter, or did that come to them, which did not come to their forefathers? 68 Or did they not recognise their apostle, and rejected him? 69 Or do they say that there is madness in him? Nay, he has brought them the Truth and it is the Truth that most of them disdain. 70 And should the truth follow their low desires, surely the heavens and the earth and all those who are therein would have perished. Nay! We have brought to them their reminder, but from their reminder they turn aside. 71 Or is it that you (O Muhammad SAW) ask them for some wages? But the recompense of your Lord is better, and He is the Best of those who give sustenance. 72 And verily, thou callest them onto a straight way 73 But those who do not believe in the Hereafter have indeed deviated from that path. 74 ۞ If We had mercy on them and removed their afflictions, they would still persist in their insolence, blindly wandering. 75 And indeed, We tested them through suffering, but they did not abase themselves before their Sustainer; and they will never humble themselves 76 until We open before them a gate of [truly] severe suffering [in the life to come]: and then, lo! they will be broken in spirit. 77
