Have you not seen how your Lord lengthens the shadows? Had He pleased, He could have made them constant; then We placed the sun as an indicator for them, 45 Then We hold it in hand for a brief grasp. 46 And He it is who makes the night a garment for you, and [your] sleep a rest, and causes every [new] day to be a resurrection. 47 And it is He who sendeth forth the winds as a herald before His mercy and We send down from the heaven water pure. 48 In order that We may revive a dead city with it, and give it to the many beasts and men that We have created, to drink. 49 And verily We have repeated it among them that they may remember, but most of mankind begrudge aught save ingratitude. 50 Had it been Our will, We could have raised a warner in every village. 51 So, O Prophet, do not yield to the disbelievers, but wage a Jihad against them with this Qur'an. 52 ۞ AND HE it is who has given freedom of movement to the two great bodies of water - the one sweet and thirst-allaying, and the other salty and bitter - and yet has wrought between them a barrier and a forbidding ban. 53 And He it is who out of this [very] water has created man, and has endowed him with [the consciousness of] descent and marriage-tie: for thy Sustainer is ever infinite in His power. 54 And yet, some people worship, instead of God, things that can neither benefit them nor harm them: thus, he who denies the truth does indeed turn his back on his Sustainer! 55 And We have not sent you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) except as a Herald of glad tidings and warnings. 56 Say thou: I ask of you no hire for this, save that whosoever will may take unto his Lord a way. 57 And rely on the Ever-living Who dies not, and celebrate His praise; and Sufficient is He as being aware of the faults of His servants, 58 Who created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in six Days, then He mounted the Throne. The Beneficent! Ask anyone informed concerning Him! 59 And when it is said to them: "Prostrate to the Most Beneficent (Allah)! They say: "And what is the Most Beneficent? Shall we fall down in prostration to that which you (O Muhammad SAW) command us?" And it increases in them only aversion. ۩ 60
