And when your Lord called out to Musa, saying: Go to the unjust people, 10 "The people of the Pharaoh: will they not fear Allah?" 11 He answered: "O my Sustainer! Behold, I fear that they will give me the lie, 12 My breast is constricted and my tongue is not fluent, so endow Messengership on Aaron. 13 "And they have a charge of crime against me, and I fear they will kill me." 14 He said: "Certainly not! So go both of you with Our Signs. We shall be with you listening to everything. 15 Go to the Pharaoh and tell him: 'We bring a message from the Lord of all the worlds 16 "So allow the Children of Israel to go with us.' " 17 Pharaoh said: "Did we not bring you up among us when you were a child? 18 And thou didst the deed thou didst, being one of the ungrateful!' 19 Moses said, "I did do it and I made a mistake. 20 "So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers. 21 And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "And what is the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)?" 23 He said, 'The Lord of the heavens and earth, and what between them is, if you have faith.' 24 Pharaoh said to those around him, "Did you hear?" 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of old. 26 (Pharaoh) said: "Truly your messenger who has been sent to you is a veritable madman!" 27 [But Moses] went on: "[He of whom I speak is] the Sustainer of the east and the west and of all that is between the two - as you would know]" if you would but use your reason!" 28 (Pharaoh) said: "If thou dost put forward any god other than me, I will certainly put thee in prison!" 29 Said Moosa, “Even if I bring to you something clear?” 30 He (Pharaoh) replied: 'Show us your sign, if you are of the truthful' 31 Thereupon [Moses] threw down his staff - and lo! it was a serpent, plainly visible; 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
