And when your Lord called out to Musa, saying: Go to the unjust people, 10 The people of Firon: Will they not guard (against evil)? 11 He said: O my Lord! surely I fear that they will reject me; 12 My breast is constricted and my tongue is not fluent, so endow Messengership on Aaron. 13 “And they have an accusation against me, so I fear that they may kill me.” 14 Said He, 'No indeed; but go, both of you, with Our signs, and We assuredly shall be with you, listening. 15 go both to Pharaoh and both of you say to him: 'We are (each) a Messenger from the Lord of all the Worlds. 16 "'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'" 17 Fir'awn said: brought we not thee up amongst us as a child? And thou tarriedst amongst us for many years of thy life? 18 "And thou didst a deed of thine which (thou knowest) thou didst, and thou art an ungrateful (wretch)!" 19 (Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong, 20 "So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers. 21 Now this is the favour that you tauntingly remind me of: that you enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 The Pharaoh asked, "Who is the Lord of the Universe?" 23 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, if you seek to be convinced with certainty." 24 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Do you not hear (what he says)?" 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers. 26 The Pharaoh said, "The Messenger who has been sent to you is certainly insane". 27 'He is the Lord of the East and the West' said he (Moses), 'and all that is between them, if you could understand' 28 Said he, 'If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.' 29 Moses asked, "What if I were to bring you clear proof (of the existence of God)?" 30 [Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful." 31 Thereupon [Moses] threw down his staff - and lo! it was a serpent, plainly visible; 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it was white unto the beholders. 33
