Said [pharaoh] unto the great ones around him: "Verily, this is indeed a sorcerer of great knowledge 34 He wants to drive you out of your land by his magic, so what do you advise?" 35 They said, “Stop him and his brother, and send gatherers to the cities.” 36 who shall assemble before thee all sorcerers of great knowledge" 37 And so the sorcerers were assembled at a set time on a certain day, 38 And it was said unto the people: are ye going to assemble. 39 Belike we may follow the magicians if they are the winners? 40 So when the magicians came, they said to Firaun, “Will we get some reward if we are victorious?” 41 'Yes, indeed' he answered, 'and you shall become among those who are near stationed' 42 Musa (Moses) said to them: "Throw what you are going to throw!" 43 So they cast their ropes and staffs, saying: 'By Pharaoh's might, we shall be the victors' 44 Thereafter, Moses threw down his rod and behold, it went about swallowing up all the false devices they had contrived. 45 And down fell the sorcerers, prostrating themselves in adoration, 46 saying, "We believe in the Lord of the Worlds, 47 the Lord of Moses and Aaron.' 48 [Pharaoh] said, "You believed Moses before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic, but you are going to know. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will surely crucify you all." 49 They said: "There will be no harm. We shall return to our Lord. 50 We are eager that Our Lord should forgive us our offenses, for we are the first of the believers' 51
