Thamood, belied their Messengers. 141 When their brother Salih said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 142 I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. 143 So fear Allah, and obey me. 144 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 145 Do you believe that you will be left here to live securely in the present state 146 among gardens and fountains, 147 farms, and palm-trees in thick groves, 148 “And you carve out dwellings in the mountains, with skill?” 149 Therefor keep your duty to Allah and obey me, 150 And do not obey the order of the transgressors, 151 Who corrupt the land and do not reform it." 152 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 153 Thou art but a human being like unto us. So bring thou a sign if thou art of the truth-tellers. 154 He said, "Here is a she-camel. She shall have her turn of drinking, as you have yours, each on an appointed day, 155 And do not touch her with harm, lest you be seized by the punishment of a terrible day." 156 But they killed her, and then they became regretful. 157 So the retribution came on them. Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 158 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 159
