And whosoever turns away (blinds himself) from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent (Allah) (i.e. this Quran and worship of Allah), We appoint for him Shaitan (Satan - devil) to be a Qarin (an intimate companion) to him. 36 and they bar them from the Way, though they themselves think that they are guided. 37 Till, when he cometh unto Us, he saith (unto his comrade): Ah, would that between me and thee there were the distance of the two horizons - an evil comrade! 38 And never will it benefit you that Day, when you have wronged, that you are [all] sharing in the punishment. 39 Can you (O Muhammad SAW) make the deaf to hear, or can you guide the blind or him who is in manifest error? 40 We shall inflict retribution on them, whether We take you away from the world (before We do that), 41 and whether We show thee [or do not show thee in this world] the fulfillment of what We have promised them - verily, We have full power over them! 42 So hold thou fast to the Revelation sent down to thee; verily thou art on a Straight Way. 43 And verily it is an admonition unto thee and thy people; and presently ye will be questioned. 44 And ask them – did any of the Noble Messengers We sent before you, appoint any other Gods except the Most Gracious, whom they used to worship? 45
