Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah too was one of the messengers. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned: 141 So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy, 142 Had he not glorified God, 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 AND NOW ask them to enlighten thee: Has thy Sustainer daughters, whereas they would have [only] sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 “Allah has begotten.” They are liars! 152 Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 Will you not then reflect? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 Produce, then, that divine writ of yours, if you are speaking the truth! 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 except the servants of God, sincere and devoted. 160 You and whatever you worship 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 Save him Who is to roast in the Flaming Fire. 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 And indeed they used to say: 167 If we had but a reminder from the men of old 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know. 170 And indeed Our Word has already gone forth for Our bondmen who were sent. 171 that it is certainly they who will be helped; 172 And [that] indeed, Our soldiers will be those who overcome. 173 So turn thou from them for a while, 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 When it comes down on their plains, it will be an evil dawn for those who had been warned. 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 and see [them for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 And peace is upon the Noble Messengers. 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
