The dwellers of the thicket gave the lie to the apostles. 176 When Shu'aib (Shuaib) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah (and obey Him)? 177 I am a trustworthy Messengers. 178 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 179 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 180 ۞ "Maintain just measure in your business and do not cause loss to others. 181 And weigh with the true balance. 182 and diminish not the goods of the people, and do not mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They said: "Surely you are deluded. 185 and a mere mortal like us. We think you are a liar. 186 So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful." 187 He said: My Lord is Best Aware of what ye do. 188 But they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them, indeed that was the torment of a Great Day. 189 Surely, in this is indeed a sign; but most of them would not believe: 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
