The men of the Thicket cried lies to the Envoys 176 When Shu'aib (Shuaib) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah (and obey Him)? 177 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 178 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 179 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ "Give full measure, and cause no loss (to others). 181 And weigh with an even balance. 182 and do not defraud people in their property or spread evil in the land. 183 And guard against (the punishment of) Him who created you and the former nations. 184 They said, "You are only of those affected by magic. 185 "Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar! 186 Then drop down on us lumps from heaven, if thou art one of the truthful.' 187 He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do." 188 Then they branded him a liar, whereupon the chastisement of the Day of Canopy overtook them. It was the chastisement of a very awesome day. 189 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 190 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 191
