The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 When Shuaib said to all of them, “Do you not fear?” 177 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 178 "So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 "And weigh with the true and straight balance. 182 and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption, 183 Fear Him who created you and those who have gone before you." 184 They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! 185 You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. 186 “Therefore cause a part of the sky to fall upon us, if you are of the truthful.” 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 Then they branded him a liar, whereupon the chastisement of the Day of Canopy overtook them. It was the chastisement of a very awesome day. 189 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191
