Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 Is not the fact (that the Israelite scholars already knew about the Quran through their Book) sufficient evidence for the pagans of the truthfulness (of the Quran)? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 In order that he read it to them, even then they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not. 202 Then they will say: are we to be respited? 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years, 205 And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised! 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 and reminded: for, never do We wrong [anyone]. 209 And this Qur’an was not brought down by the devils. 210 for, neither does it suit their ends, nor is it in their power [to impart it to man]: 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 So do not call any other god beside Allah lest you become of those who will be punished, 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 then, if they disobey thee, say, 'I am quit of that you do.' 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 And watches your movements among those who prostrate in prayer. 219 For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things. 220 Shall I inform you (O people!) upon whom the Shayatin (devils) descend? 221 They descend upon every sinful liar. 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, the erring follow them. 224 Did you not see that they keep wandering in every valley? 225 And that they say what they do not do. 226 Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned! 227
