Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds: 192 The Trustworthy Spirit brought it down. (Angel Jibreel – peace be upon him.) 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 Its news was also mentioned in the ancient Books. 196 And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel? 197 Had We revealed it to a man of obscure tongue 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 They will not believe therein until they behold the torment afflictive. 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" 203 Do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 and then the promised punishment fell upon them, 206 They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. 207 We never destroyed any habitation but that it had warners 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 Most surely they are far removed from the hearing of it. 212 So do not call upon another god with Allah, lest you should be one of those who are punished. 213 And warn your near relations, 214 And lower thou thy wing unto those who follow thee as believers. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 who sees you when you stand up [for prayer], 218 And watches your movements among those who prostrate in prayer. 219 He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner. (The magicians) 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 And the Poets,- It is those straying in Evil, who follow them: 224 Do you not see that they wander about bewildered in every valley? 225 And that they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believed and did good deeds, and profusely remembered Allah, and took revenge after they had been wronged*; and soon the unjust will come to know upon which side they will be overturned**. (* The Muslim poets who praise Allah and the Prophet. ** The disbelievers will be punished.) 227
