Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds: 192 The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down 193 upon thy heart, [O Muhammad] so that thou mayest be among those who preach 194 In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 In order that he read it to them, even then they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 They will not believe in it to the extent that they see the painful punishment. 201 It shall come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, 205 and then the promised punishment fell upon them, 206 of what avail to them will be all their past enjoyments? 207 We never destroyed any habitation but that it had warners 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 The satans have not revealed the Quran; 210 They are unworthy of it, nor can they do it. 211 indeed they are debarred from overhearing it. 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 Warn your tribe and your near kinsmen. 214 And lower thy wing to the Believers who follow thee. 215 If they disobey you, say, "I bear no responsibility for what you do." 216 And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 217 Who sees you (O Muhammad SAW) when you stand up (alone at night for Tahajjud prayers). 218 And thy movements among those who prostrate themselves, 219 Verily He! He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 Who listens to you (for spreading rumours); but most of them are liars. 223 Only the erring people follow the poets. 224 See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
