The unbelievers have said, "Shall we and our fathers be brought out of the graves after we become dust? 67 We were promised this, forsooth, we and our fathers. (All) this is naught but fables of the men of old. 68 Say, "Roam across the earth and observe what was the end of the sinful ones." 69 Do not grieve over them, nor feel distressed at their schemes. 70 They also say: "When will this promise (come to pass)? (Say) if ye are truthful." 71 Say: "The chastisement whose hastening you have been asking for, maybe a part of it has drawn quite near to you." 72 And indeed, your Lord is full of bounty for the people, but most of them do not show gratitude." 73 And verily, your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they reveal. 74 And not a thing is there hidden in heaven and earth but it is in a Manifest Book. 75 Surely, this Koran relates to the Children of Israel most of that which they are at variance. 76 And it certainly is a Guide and a Mercy to those who believe. 77 Surely, by His Judgement, your Lord will decide between them. He is the Mighty, the Knower. 78 Trust in God for you follow the manifest truth. 79 Verily, you cannot make the dead to hear (i.e. benefit them and similarly the disbelievers), nor can you make the deaf to hear the call, when they flee, turning their backs. 80 nor can you direct the blind to the Right Way, preventing them from falling into error. You can make only those who believe in Our verses to hear the call and then submit. 81 ۞ And when the Word is fulfilled against them (the unjust), we shall produce from the earth a beast to (face) them: He will speak to them, for that mankind did not believe with assurance in Our Signs. 82
