Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. 1 Those are the signs of the Wise Book 2 A Guide and a Mercy to the Doers of Good,- 3 who establish Prayer and pay Zakah, and have firm faith in the Hereafter. 4 They follow the guidance of their Lord and they will have everlasting happiness. 5 But among men there is many a one that prefers a mere play with words [to divine guidance,] so as to lead [those] without knowledge astray from the path of God, and to turn it to ridicule: for such there is shameful suffering in store. 6 And when Our signs are recited to such a man he turns away, waxing proud, as though he heard them not, and in his ears were heaviness; so give him good tidings of a painful chastisement. 7 Surely those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, there awaits them Gardens of Bliss 8 wherein they will abide forever. That is God's true promise; He is the Mighty, the Wise One. 9 He created the skies without a support, as you can see, and placed stabilisers in the earth that you may dwell at ease as it revolves; and dispersed on it all varieties of creatures, and He sent down water from the skies and grew all kinds of splendid things upon it. 10 Such is the creation of Allah; now show me what, other than Him, created! No, the harmdoers are in clear error. 11
