Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
ALIF LAM MIM. 1 These are the verses of the Book of wisdom. 2 A guidance and a mercy for the good, 3 Those who perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as- Salat) and give Zakat and they have faith in the Hereafter with certainty. 4 Those are guided by their Lord and will surely prosper. 5 And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e. music, singing, etc.) to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and takes it (the Path of Allah, the Verses of the Quran) by way of mockery. For such there will be a humiliating torment (in the Hell-fire). 6 When Our verses are recited before them they turn away haughtily as though they did not hear them, as if a deafness had come into their ears. So give them tidings of a shameful punishment. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens of Delight. 8 wherein they will abide forever. That is God's true promise; He is the Mighty, the Wise One. 9 He has created the heavens without pillar as you can see, fixed the mountains on earth so that it may not shake you away, and settled therein all types of living creatures. We have sent down water from the sky and made all kinds of plants grow in gracious pairs. 10 Allah has created this – therefore show me what has been created by those other than Him; in fact the unjust are in open error. 11
