۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 Other than God," (the angels will be told), "then show them the way to Hell, 23 And stop them, for they must be questioned. 24 What aileth you that ye help not one another? 25 Nay! on that day they shall be submissive. 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 These say, 'Why, you of old would come to us from the right hand.' 28 They will say: "No, you were the ones who would not believe. 29 And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people. 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 On that day they will all share the torment. 33 Even so We do with the sinners; 34 Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant 35 And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?" 36 In fact, he had brought them the truth and had acknowledged the Messengers (who were sent before him). 37 Most surely you will taste the painful punishment. 38 and will be recompensed only for what you deserve. 39 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- 40 for them awaits a known provision, 41 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 sitting face to face upon couches, 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 There will neither be any harm in it for their body nor will it intoxicate their mind. 47 and with them wide-eyed maidens restraining their glances 48 (Delicate and pure) as if they were (hidden) eggs (well) preserved. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 One of them will say, "I had a companion who asked me, 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 Allah will say: will ye look down? 54 Then looketh he and seeth him in the depth of hell. 55 He said: "By Allah! You have nearly ruined me. 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 Are we then not to die 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Verily this is the supreme achievement! 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 Verily, We have caused it to be a trial for evildoers: 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies. 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 then their return is unto Hell. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 So in their footsteps they are being hastened on. 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 We had certainly sent warners to them. 72 and behold, how was the end of them that were warned, 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
