S (Saad)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Sad, and by the Qur'an full of exhortation! 1 In fact, the disbelievers are in false pride and opposition. 2 How many a generation We destroyed before them, and they called, but time was none to escape. 3 They were surprised that one of them had come to them as warner; and the unbelievers said: "He is a deceiving sorcerer. 4 Does he make all the deities out to be one God? This is indeed a strange thing." 5 A group of the pagans walked out of a meeting with the Prophet and told the others, "Let us walk away. Be steadfast in the worship of your gods. This man wants to dominate you. 6 We have heard nothing like this in the latest religion. This is only his own false invention. 7 To him of all of us has the Reminder been sent down?" They are still in doubt about My admonition; but they have not tasted My punishment yet! 8 Or have they the treasures of the Mercy of your Lord, the All-Mighty, the Real Bestower? 9 Is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for them? So would they not just ascend using ropes? 10 A defeated host are (all) the factions that are there. 11 The people of Noah, Ad and the dominating Pharaoh had rejected Our revelations. 12 And the tribe of Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the People of the Woods; these are the groups. 13 None of them was such that it did not deny the Noble Messengers, therefore My punishment became inevitable. 14
