3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 when he turned to his Sustainer with a heart free of evil, 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire. 97 And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low. 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 “You have indeed made the dream come true”; and this is how We reward the virtuous. 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail peace be upon them is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 And We left for him among the posterity: 108 Peace be upon Ibrahim! 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 for he was truly one of our believing servants. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 and We blessed him and Isaac, and from their offspring are some gooddoers, and others who clearly wronged themselves. 113
