We were indeed gracious to Moses and Aaron, 114 and We delivered them and their people from the great distress. 115 And We supported them so it was they who overcame. 116 And We gave them the divine writ that made [right and wrong] distinct, 117 And showed them the right path. 118 and preserved for them a good name among posterity. 119 "Peace upon Moses and Aaron." 120 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 121 Indeed they are two of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 122 AND, BEHOLD, Elijah [too] was indeed one of Our message-bearers 123 When he said to his people: "Will you not be mindful of God? 124 Do you worship Ba`al and abandon the Best Creator. 125 God, your Sustainer and the Sustainer of your forebears of old?" 126 But they called him a liar, therefore they shall most surely be brought up. 127 Except the chosen slaves of Allah. 128 We perpetuated his praise in the later generations. 129 "Peace and salutation to such as Elias!" 130 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 131 He was one of Our believing servants. 132 And lo! Lot verily was of those sent (to warn). 133 when We delivered him and his people all together, 134 Except an old woman who was among those who lagged behind: 135 Then We destroyed the others. 136 You pass by (their habitations) in the morning 137 And at night; will you not then reflect? 138
