Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 And then drew lots and was of those rejected; 141 So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy, 142 And had he not been of those who [even in the deep darkness of their distress are able to] extol God's limitless glory, 143 He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 and [this time] they believed [in him] and so We allowed them to enjoy their life during the time allotted to them? 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Did We create the angels as females the while they witnessed?” 150 Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What ails you then, how you judge? 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 Exalted is Allah above what they describe, 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 Wherefore verily neither ye nor that which ye worship, 161 can lure away from God any 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 (Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed; 164 "And we are verily ranged in ranks (for service); 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old, 168 "We should certainly have been Servants of Allah, sincere (and devoted)!" 169 But when it came to them, they rejected it. They shall soon come to know (the end of such an attitude). 170 Our Word had already preceded Our worshipers, the Messengers, 171 that they shall receive Our help 172 and that Our hosts shall triumph. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 And leave them for a time. 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 and peace be upon the Messengers, 181 And all the praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 182
Almighty God's Truth.
