1/2 Hizb 46
< random >
Bring to mind Our servant Job who cried to his Lord, "Satan has afflicted me with distress and suffering." 41 [and thereupon was told:] "Strike [the ground] with thy foot: here is cool water to wash with and to drink!" 42 We restored his family to him with others similar to them, as a blessing from Us and a reminder for men of wisdom. -- 43 and, 'Take in thy hand a bundle of rushes, and strike therewith, and do not fail in thy oath.' Surely We found him a steadfast man. How excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 44 Remember Our votaries Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, men of power and insight. 45 for, verily, We purified them by means of a thought most pure: the remembrance of the life to come. 46 And verily they are with us of the elect of the excellent ones. 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhul-Kifl, and all are among the outstanding. 48 This is an advice; and indeed for the pious is an excellent abode. 49 Gardens of Eden, whereof the gates are opened for them, 50 Therein they will recline; therein they will call for plenteous fruit and drink. 51 ۞ with them, they will have pure, modest women of an equal age. 52 This is what you are promised for the Day of Reckoning: 53 this, verily, shall be Our provision [for you,] with no end to it! 54 However, the rebellious ones will have the worst place to return. 55 Hell, where they will burn, an evil resting-place. 56 This - so let them taste it - is scalding water and [foul] purulence. 57 And other Penalties of a similar kind, to match them! 58 Here is a multitude rushing headlong with you. There is no welcome for them. They will roast in the fire. 59 But they will say: 'No, it is you that has no welcome. It was you who brought it upon us, an evil place' 60 They will say: "Our Lord! whoever brought this upon us,- Add to him a double Penalty in the Fire!" 61 And they shall say: What is the matter with us that we do not see men whom we used to count among the vicious? 62 What, did we take them for a laughing-stock? Or have our eyes swerved away from them?' 63 This contending of the inmates of Hell will surely be real. 64

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
