And remember Our bondman Ayyub (Job); when he cried out* to his Lord, “The devil has struck me with hardship and pain.” (After seven years of patience.) 41 Urge with your foot; here is a cool washing-place and a drink. 42 And We gave him (back) his family, and along with them the like thereof, as a Mercy from Us, and a Reminder for those who understand. 43 "And take in thy hand a little grass, and strike therewith: and break not (thy oath)." Truly We found him full of patience and constancy. How excellent in Our service! ever did he turn (to Us)! 44 And remember Our servants Ibrahim and Ishaq and Yaqoub, men of power and insight. 45 Assuredly We purified them with a quality most pure, the remembrance of the Abode, 46 And indeed they are, to Us, among the chosen and outstanding. 47 Also, remember our worshipers Ishmael, Elisha, and ThulKifl, they are among the good. 48 This is a reminder; and most surely there is an excellent resort for those who guard (against evil), 49 the Gardens of eternity with gates thrown wide open to them. 50 wherein they will recline, [and] wherein they may [freely] call for many a fruit and drink, 51 ۞ And with them are those of modest gaze, companions. 52 This is the promise being given to you, for the Day of Reckoning. 53 Our provision (for you) will never be exhausted. 54 All this [for the righteous]: but, verily, the most evil of all goals awaits those who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right: 55 Hell, which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the resting place. 56 (They will be told), "This is your recompense. 57 And similar other punishments in pairs. 58 Here is a troop rushing headlong with you! No welcome for them! truly, they shall burn in the Fire! 59 They say: Nay, but you (misleaders), for you there is no word of welcome. Ye prepared this for us (by your misleading). Now hapless is the plight. 60 They say, “Our Lord! Whoever has brought this calamity upon us – double the punishment of the fire for him!” 61 And they will add: "How is it that we do not see [here any of the] men whom we were wont to count among the wicked, 62 Is it [because] we took them in ridicule, or has [our] vision turned away from them?" 63 All this is certainly true -- the inhabitants of the Fire will blame one another in this way. 64
